Spring Activities

Finally weather I like. I spent most of yesterday out in the yard. There are wonderful smells and so many birds to watch. Joe, who lives in my house and loves to talk to me—it’s one sided, believe me—accused me of acting crazy just because I was dashing all over. It’s spring! Isn’t that reason enough?
The woman—Joe calls her Mama—is very busy too. Today it’s wet outside. Not heavy rain, but just enough to make sitting in the yard unpleasant. So I went upstairs for my mid-morning nap. But “Mama” was taking the bed apart. She pulled all the covers off, including that soft quilt I enjoyed napping on all winter, and a ruffle from under the mattress—even the curtains went into a pile on the floor which she scooped up and brought to the laundry room.
Then I had to wait while she put different things on the windows, lighter colored ruffles and covers on the bed and finally a new bedspread. She made we wait at least 20 minutes before I could take my favorite spot on the bed for my nap. I hope this activity won’t happen too often. I hate to delay my nap.
